CRAFTED BY HAND, DESIGNED TO LAST
Born in 1856, Hunter has spent over 170 years doing one thing really well, making boots built to last. It started with vulcanised rubber, a newly patented process that let us craft footwear tough enough for the harshest conditions. It still starts there today. Our Original Boot - introduced in 1956, remains handcrafted from over 28 individually shaped parts, put together with the same care and precision as the very first pair. No shortcuts. Just boots you can feel the difference in from the moment you pull them on. We source our natural latex from responsibly managed plantations in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand, keeping our supply chain close to reduce our footprint and stay true to the values we've always held, respect for people, animals, and the land. From muddy fields to city pavements, Hunter boots have been a trusted companion for generations. And as we step into our 170th year, that hasn't changed one bit.

THE JOURNEY OF A HUNTER BOOT
Sourced with Care
Our boots begin in the lush plantations of Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, where natural rubber trees thrive.
Tapping Tradition
At dawn, skilled workers make a precise incision in each tree, a process called tapping, allowing the pure latex to flow into small cups.
Shaping Nature
The liquid latex is transformed into solid rubber, ready to become something greater, from tires and hoses to the world’s most trusted Wellington boots.
Crafting the Canvas
Once at our footwear suppliers, the rubber is carefully mixed with pigments and rolled into fine sheets, creating the foundation for each Hunter boot.
Cut to Perfection
Every sheet is cut into over 28 individual pieces, each shaped for the foot, ankle, or calf - the building blocks of comfort and durability.
Handcrafted Heritage
Piece by piece, skilled makers mould the rubber onto metal lasts, ensuring the perfect Hunter fit.
Finally, the boots undergo vulcanisation, an intense process of heat and pressure that makes them waterproof, flexible, and enduring.
